So, we aren’t sure if it is due to the old military regime or if it is a way for the government to ensure that every business pays taxes, but every time we buy anything, we are always given a receipt. Even the guy on the beach, who runs the trampoline area where Asher and Aliya jumped for 10 minutes, made sure that we didn’t leave with out a receipt!
And everyone makes sure that we definitely take the receipt. We have left stores after buying a soft drink and have had the owner calling us back in to take the receipt.
Ben’s favorite is the store that has one person who sells you an item, like a lightbulb, and another person who stamps the receipt, and then another person in a different area of the store who stamps the receipt again.
Check out all the good stamps for our $5 US ($3,320 chilean peso) purchase!
